Trend to Try: Nail Wraps
It’s all about the nail wrap at Australian Fashion Week, with some top Aussie designers including the likes of Ellery, Romance Was Born & Gary Bigeni jumping on the bandwagon & collaborating with online super-store ASOS.com to have their rad designs on your fingertips.
So I decided to see what all the fuss is about!
Enter these…

I was lucky enough to have been sent a pack of Fing’rs Flirt Nail Bling to try out…. Oh & did I mention that they were 3D. YEAH, 3D nail art, now we’re talkin’!
The instructions advise that one must simply apply a base coat (this step was optional, so naturally, I didn’t do it), pick the right sized nail decal, stick it on your nail then seal with a top coat.
Easy.peasy.lemon.squeezy…. or so I thought!

I don’t know whose hands they based the stickers on but the nail decals were more likely to fit a 6ft-something man rather than my own dainty digits.

Once I had put on the stickers, I had to trim them. Look to the packet for instructions on how to trim. Nothing. So I took a stab in the dark & grabbed some scissors & started snipping. Was feeling like a kid in pre-school until I realised the sticky-stickers were beginning to prevent my scissors from opening!

I will admit, the pattern & the 3D effect looked really great! But in the end I was left with a ‘manicure’ that only looked good from a distance, strange sticky animal print trimming stuck to every surface in my office & a pair of scissors that won’t open.
The conclusion: I think it would have been easier/less time-consuming/less expensive to simply go old school & paint them. Plus they lasted a grand total of 45mins, until I went to straighten my hair & the majority of them came of in my hair. It was at this point that I lost it & ripped the remaining stickers off!

Perhaps next time I could get sent a childrens size pack?
& that ladies & gentlemen, is a wrap.
